Welcome to StaySpec. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using StaySpec.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use StaySpec. By creating an account, you represent that:

• You are at least 18 years of age
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these terms
• You will provide accurate account information
• You will not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions

2. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Immediately notifying us of any unauthorized access
• Keeping your contact information current

3. Review Guidelines

StaySpec depends on honest, helpful reviews. When submitting reviews, you agree to:

Do's

• Review only hotels where you have actually stayed
• Provide honest, factual assessments of your experience
• Include specific, helpful details (wifi speed, water pressure, etc.)
• Update reviews if you return and the hotel has changed

Don'ts

• No fake reviews: Don't review hotels you haven't stayed at
• No spam: Don't submit duplicate or irrelevant content
• No compensation: Don't accept payment for reviews without disclosure
• No harassment: Don't use reviews to target or harass individuals
• No personal information: Don't include others' private details
• No illegal content: Don't promote illegal activities

We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines and suspend accounts of repeat offenders.

4. Content Ownership & License

Your Content

You retain ownership of reviews, photos, and other content you submit. However, by posting content on StaySpec, you grant us a:

• Worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license
• Right to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content
• Right to create derivative works (e.g., aggregating scores)
• Right to sublicense for service operation purposes

This license exists so we can operate the service (displaying reviews, calculating scores, etc.) and survives account deletion for content that has been made public.

Our Content

StaySpec's name, logo, design, and original content are our intellectual property. You may not use these without written permission.

5. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Use automated tools to scrape or collect data without permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Circumvent any access restrictions or security measures
• Upload malware or malicious code

6. Third-Party Content

StaySpec may display information from third-party sources:

• Hotel data from OpenStreetMap and other mapping services
• User-submitted reviews and photos
• Links to external hotel booking sites

We don't endorse or guarantee the accuracy of third-party content. Use your judgment and verify important details directly with hotels.

7. Disclaimers

No Booking Services

StaySpec is a review platform, not a booking service. We don't process reservations or payments. Any bookings you make through linked services are governed by those services' terms.

Accuracy of Information

While we strive for accuracy, hotel conditions can change. Reviews reflect individual experiences at specific points in time. We cannot guarantee that information is current or applicable to your stay.

Service Availability

StaySpec is provided "as is" without warranty. We don't guarantee uninterrupted access or that the service will be error-free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• StaySpec is not liable for decisions you make based on reviews
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us (if any)
• These limitations apply regardless of legal theory (contract, tort, etc.)

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StaySpec and its operators from claims arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Content you submit
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of others' rights

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these terms or review guidelines
• Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Remain inactive for extended periods

Upon termination, your right to use the service ends. Public reviews may remain visible (attributed to "Former User") to maintain community data integrity.

11. Modifications

We may modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or prominent notice on the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, you may delete your account.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

13. General Provisions

• Entire Agreement: These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and StaySpec
• Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect
• No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any term doesn't waive our right to do so later
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights; we may assign ours in connection with a merger or acquisition
